Conical Slipforming

Conical slipforming is mostly used to build industrial chimneys and bridge pillars.

Conical

With our extensive know-how, you can rest assured knowing we will deliver your project, on schedule, with the right height and shape.

Conical slipforming is used for round and rectangular tower-shaped structures with changing cross-sections. Despite its name, this construction method is not limited to conical structures, but can be used to continuously cast monolithic tapering and flaring concrete structures.

Conical slipforming is mostly used to build industrial chimneys and bridge pillars.

Conical slipforming works as follows: Vertical strongback yokes are joined with a pair of horizontal yoke plates in order to create a yoke frame. This yoke frame, in turn, works like a parallelogram that can move within itself. The formwork face panels into which concrete is poured are mounted at the lower end of the yoke frame, while the star-shaped truss arrangement is mounted in a displaceable manner on the upper end. The hydraulic system that is used to horizontally pull in the yoke frame is mounted on this truss arrangement as well.

Depending on your preference, one or two hanging scaffolds can be set up on the form for curing the concrete or for applying a coating if necessary.

An experienced slipforming specialist is indispensable in order to ensure that this type of project will go smoothly.
